Logging into PowerBI Desktop and Snowflake Reader Account

Learn how to update your login for PowerBI Desktop and Snowflake reader account.

Please Note: This change only applies if you use PowerBI Desktop and the Snowflake reader account. If you only access KPI workbooks directly from the Practice Intelligence landing page, your experience remains unchanged as the updates have been completed in the backend.


Changes have been made to how some customers access their Karbon Practice Intelligence (KPI) account. Depending on how you access KPI, there may be action you need to take.

If you are continuing to use the PowerBI desktop and the Snowflake reader account, the username and password that came with your KPI account will no longer give you access as of July 14th, 2024. You will need to create a new username and password to access Karbon Practice Intelligence (KPI) workbooks in PowerBI Desktop and your Snowflake reader account to avoid any service interruptions.

Actions Needed

Generating your new login information is easy. Follow these steps:

  1. Navigate to the Practice Intelligence landing page off of the Main Menu.

  2. Select the Intelligence Credentials section

  3. Click on Create User.

  4. Click ‘Follow this link’ and you will then be directed to open a Snowflake password reset page. Follow the instructions to reset your password.

  5. Reset your password. The new username, which is usually your Karbon login email, and the new password will be what you use to log in to PowerBI Desktop and your Snowflake reader account.



  6. [OPTIONAL STEP] You have the option to enable Multi-factor Authentication (MFA). Please note the warning below before deciding to complete this step.

Click “Continue”: Snowflake will guide you through setting up Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) using DUO Authentication.

Warning ⚠️ Expect Notifications:

Some applications, like PowerBI Desktop, may send a high volume of notifications once MFA is activated. If you require assistance with MFA when accessing PowerBI Desktop, please contact support@karbonhq.com.
