This happens because emails containing the old or disassociated email addresses are still present in the contact’s timeline. Karbon’s contact timeline includes all historical emails and activities associated with that contact, and it uses this data to suggest associated email addresses and people.

If you'd like to prevent the old or incorrect email addresses from appearing as suggestions, follow these steps:

  1. Ensure the Contact’s Information is Updated:
Even after removing the old email addresses from a contact’s profile, they might still appear in suggestions if past emails containing that address are part of the contact’s timeline. Archiving or deleting those specific emails is the most effective way to stop the old suggestions from appearing.

    • Double-check that the contact’s information is up to date by going to the contact profile.

    • Update or remove any old or outdated email addresses from the contact’s details.

  2. Search for the Old Emails:

    • Navigate to the contact’s timeline.

    • Use the search bar to locate any emails that include the old or disassociated email addresses.

  3. Remove Emails from the timeline :

    • Once you've found the relevant emails, select one and open it.

    • On the right-hand side, go to the information tray.

    • Under the Timeline section, you'll see the contact(s) associated with the email.

    • Click the 'X' next to the contact's name to remove the email from their timeline.

If the emails are still important historically but you're seeing them appear in the wrong timeline, here's a workaround to ensure the emails remain accessible while avoiding incorrect suggestions:

  1. Move the Emails to the Correct Contact:

    • If the email address belongs to another contact, you can move the email to the correct person's timeline.

    • In the Timeline section of the email's information tray, click the 'X' next to the incorrect contact, and then add the correct contact by searching for their name or email address. This way, the email will remain linked to the correct individual.

  2. Create a New Contact for Historical Emails:

    • If the email address no longer belongs to any existing contacts but you still want to keep the emails, you can create a new contact specifically for historical purposes.

This workaround ensures that the emails are still easily accessible while preventing them from affecting the suggestions on the timeline of unrelated contacts.
