Introduction

This article covers setup instructions and key features such as customizable reports, managing unbilled work and receivables, accounting period summaries, invoice management, and billing runs. Whether you're new to [Your Product Name] or looking to optimize your dashboard usage, this guide will help you navigate and leverage its powerful features for streamlined firm management.

Dashboard Setup Instructions:

At the top left of the dashboard, firms will find setup instructions. These steps provide a structured outline rather than strict requirements. Once completed, you can choose to close this modal.

To complete setup, follow these steps:

  1. Upload Logo: Ensure your firm's logo is uploaded.

  2. Invoice Template: Navigate to the invoice template page.

  3. Email Template: Access the email template page.

  4. Address Validation: Add an address that matches our validation criteria.

  5. Accounting Period: Select your preferred accounting period.

  6. GL Codes: Enter and save your GL codes.

Each completed step will display a green tick mark, indicating progress and providing a sense of accomplishment. Once all steps are finished, the billing setup tile will be removed from the dashboard.

Customizable Reports:

The rest of the dashboard consists of customizable reports.

Unbilled

This section categorizes unbilled work by type (fixed fee, time and materials, expenses, and time). You can select items here to create invoices for unbilled work. The table also lists your top five clients by unbilled amount, representing clients with completed work awaiting invoicing.

Receivables

The Receivables section provides an overview of outstanding debts. Different color categories distinguish between "Auto-Pay" (automatically collected payments) and "Not Auto-Pay" (client-initiated payments). Click into this section to view individual receivables, client balances, or details of specific invoices or payments.

Accounting Periods

This section summarizes current and past accounting periods, detailing start and end dates. Click to view a summary of all periods or drill into specific accounting periods for more details.

Invoices

Manage your invoice workflow from draft to paid in the Invoices section. Navigate through invoices by status or select individual invoices for detailed review. Each stage is summarized, providing a quick overview of invoice status.

Billing Runs

Billing Runs are collections of invoices typically generated for specific periods. They enable batch invoicing, ensuring all invoices are sent simultaneously. An invoice in Karbon must belong to a Billing Run.
