Changing email addresses

If you are planning on changing the email address that you sign into Karbon with, here are the steps we would suggest you make for a smooth transition.

Invite your new email address into Karbon:

  1. Log into Karbon with your current (soon to be archived) email account. If you've already changed your email address and can no longer log in, the best thing to do would be to have a colleague who still has access to Karbon to invite you using your new email address.
  2. Invite in a new user with your new email address. You can do this from Settings > Colleagues.
  3. Clear Triage. It's important to get your Triage down to zero before you remove this user account. We'd recommend either replying to all emails and cc'ing your new email address, or assigning all the emails to your new user account that you created in step 1 & 2.
  4. Ensure all emails are public for your contacts. This is important as it ensures all your email with your client is on their timelines and not lost when you archive your old user account.
  5. Log out of Karbon.

Activate your account with your new email address and archive your old account

  1. Go to your new email address' Inbox and accept the invite to Karbon, all the way to logging in.
  2. Archive your old user account from Settings.
  3. IMPORTANT: Choose the colleague who will own the removed colleague's assignments (your new user account) and click Remove & Reassign.

Changing email domain

If you are changing the domain of your email address, reach out to our support team to help transition over that change so that you and your team can continue to log in as normal.

  • When will you be making the change?
  • What is the old domain and what new domain would you like it changed to?

Changing email provider

If you are changing your email provider ((i.e. Gmail to Office365, Exchange to Office365, etc.) or making an Office 365 tenant change please reach out to our support through Help & Feedback > Still can't find what you need > start a new conversation or email us support@karbonhq.com. Please include the following information in the chat to best help our team assist you:

  • When will you be making the change?
  • Which email provider are you using today and what are you switching to?
