Updated this week

With the recent launch of the Credit Notes as part of Karbon Billing and Payments, Karbon Practice Intelligence is being updated to support credit notes. This article provides details on credit notes' impact on reports, and the steps you can take while we work to add credit notes support.

Impact on Reports

The following reports will be affected:

  1. WIP Report:

    • The historical billed amounts could be incorrect due to changes in time entries with credit notes.

  2. Time Report & Realization Report:

    • Historical data will be incorrect as the billing amount in time entries will be adjusted by the credit notes. This means that any calculations based on billing amounts will not be historically accurate.

  3. Direct Database Pulls:

    • Users extracting data directly from the database may also encounter discrepancies in their calculations due to the missing context of credit notes.

Known Impacted Areas

With the addition of credit notes to Karbon Billing and Payments, additional data may be required for your firm's custom reporting. Please note, the following tables have been updated to account for credit notes, but will not be historically accurate until Karbon Practice Intelligence introduces Credit Note support.

  • Invoice

  • WIP_Item

  • Billing_Item

Current Status

  • We anticipate credit notes will become part of Karbon Practice Intelligence's Data set soon, with support in KPI's Business Intelligence reports early next year.
