QuickBooks Time can only send time up to QuickBooks Online to a pre-existing customer:job. If you don't have that customer:job available you will receive an error.

To fix this, you will have to do one of two things:

  1. Manually the create customer:job in QuickBooks Online.

  2. Have the bi-directional sync turned on in QuickBooks Time that will create those automatically in QuickBooks Online as you push time up from QuickBooks Time to QuickBooks Online.
